History:
Since its founding in October 1963, the Sophie Gumbel Guild has offered opportunities for persons with intellectual and developmental disABILITIES (IDD) to grow and live to their fullest. The Guild formally changed its name to Strive, Inc. in 1996 and continues to believe in the boundless potential of all. Strive is located in two stately buildings at 1139 Napoleon Avenue in the charming Uptown New Orleans Historic District and serves 100 adult clients ages 19 years and older in diversified programs of job-related training, facility-based work, and supported employment. In addition, Strive, Inc. provides residential and recreational programs.
